Registration Terms for Events Registered Through Monesko

Effective from 1 June 2026.

These terms apply to registrations where Monesko handles the registration on behalf of and for the account of the event organiser.

1. Monesko’s role

Monesko provides a registration and payment service on behalf of and for the account of the event organiser.

The event organiser is responsible for the organisation, content, safety, schedules, routes, instructions, participation requirements, and any changes or cancellations related to the event.

Monesko is not the event organiser unless this is expressly stated for a specific event.

If the event organiser’s event-specific terms conflict with these terms, these terms apply to matters concerning Monesko’s role, responsibilities, payments, payment processing and technical registration service.

2. Registration and participant information

The registration becomes binding on the participant once the payment has been approved and the registration confirmation has been created or sent to the participant.

Because the registration concerns a leisure service provided on a specific date or during a specific period, the registration is not subject to the statutory 14-day cancellation right under consumer protection legislation.

By registering, the participant confirms that the information they have provided is accurate and up to date. The participant agrees to comply with these terms and with the event organiser’s event-specific instructions and terms.

The participant must check the information they provide during registration and the information in the registration confirmation. Any errors must be reported without delay.

Incorrect or incomplete information may affect participation, results service, communications or other event-related services.

3. Prices and payments

The total registration price is shown before payment.

The price includes the participation fee set by the event organiser. Any service fees, handling fees or payment method fees are always shown before payment.

Payment is made at the time of registration using the available payment methods. Monesko may offer different payment methods from time to time, and the payment service provider’s own terms may also apply to the payment.

Any service fees, handling fees or payment method fees are not refunded unless otherwise stated in the event-specific terms or required by mandatory law.

If a sports or employee benefit is used as a payment method, the participant is responsible for ensuring that they are entitled to use that benefit to pay for the event. Sports benefits are personal payment methods.

4. Participation and event-specific instructions

The participant is responsible for reading and following the event organiser’s instructions.

The event organiser is responsible for event safety and for decisions related to participation, such as participation requirements, mandatory equipment, age limits, routes, schedules and possible participation restrictions.

5. Changes and cancellations made by the participant

The participant may change, transfer or cancel their registration only if this is permitted by the event organiser’s event-specific terms.

Any changes, transfers, cancellations and refunds are handled in accordance with the event organiser’s terms and instructions.

Monesko may carry out a change, transfer or refund in accordance with the event organiser’s instructions, but the decision to approve a change or refund belongs to the event organiser unless otherwise stated for a specific event.

6. Transferring a registration to another person

A registration may be transferred to another person only if this is permitted by the event organiser’s event-specific terms.

Any transfer must be made in the manner and within the time limit specified by the event organiser or Monesko.

If a registration is transferred to another person, the original registrant is responsible for ensuring that the new participant receives the relevant information concerning the event and the registration, unless otherwise instructed for a specific event.

7. Event changes, postponement or cancellation

The event organiser is responsible for any changes, postponement, interruption or cancellation of the event.

If the event is changed, postponed or cancelled, any refunds or compensation are handled in accordance with the event organiser’s decision and the event-specific terms.

Monesko may carry out a refund or other change in accordance with the event organiser’s instructions, but the decision on any refund or compensation belongs to the event organiser unless otherwise stated for a specific event.

Registration fees are received on behalf of and for the account of the event organiser, even if the payment is technically processed through a registration or payment service used by Monesko.

If the event organiser is declared bankrupt or becomes insolvent, any refund claim by the participant is directed to the event organiser or its bankruptcy estate. Monesko is not responsible for the event organiser’s insolvency and does not guarantee the refund of participation fees. Depending on the payment method, the participant may also have the right to check refund options with the payment service provider, card issuer or other payment intermediary.

Refunds may be carried out in different ways depending on the payment method. As a rule, a refund is made to the same payment method used for the registration unless the event organiser’s instructions, the payment method’s terms or technical implementation require otherwise.

If a refund to the original payment method is not technically possible, the refund may be carried out in another reasonable manner based on payment details requested from the participant.

If the registration was paid using a sports benefit or another targeted employee benefit, the payment will not be refunded to the participant in cash. Any compensation, payment cancellation or refund is handled in accordance with the terms, technical possibilities and event organiser’s instructions relating to the relevant benefit provider.

8. Misuse and cancellation of registration

Monesko or the event organiser has the right to cancel a registration if the registration has been made using incorrect information, the payment has not been completed, misuse is suspected in connection with the payment, or the registration has otherwise been used in breach of the law, good practice or these terms.

9. Processing of personal data

Personal data is processed to the extent required for registration, payment, participant communications, timing, results service and the organisation of the event.

More detailed information on the processing of personal data is provided in Monesko’s Privacy Policy: https://monesko.fi/en/privacy-policy/.

10. Technical functionality and force majeure

Monesko aims to ensure that the registration and payment service functions appropriately.

Monesko is not responsible for disruptions, delays or service interruptions caused by circumstances beyond Monesko’s control, such as network disruptions, payment service provider disruptions or disruptions in other third-party services.

Monesko is not responsible for any delay, disruption or prevention of service caused by force majeure, such as an authority order, major telecommunications disruption, power outage, cyberattack, payment service disruption or another similar cause beyond Monesko’s control.

11. Allocation and limitation of liability

Monesko is responsible for providing the registration and payment service with due care.

The event organiser is responsible for the organisation of the event, event information, participation requirements, safety, schedules, routes, changes, cancellations and event-related customer communications to the extent these have not been separately agreed with Monesko.

The participant is responsible for the accuracy of their own information and for reading and following the event instructions.

Monesko is not responsible for indirect or consequential damages, such as travel costs, accommodation costs, loss of income or other costs related to participation in the event, unless otherwise required by mandatory law.

12. Customer service and contact details

For questions related to registration and payment, the participant may contact Monesko.

For questions related to the event content, schedule, rules, safety, routes or participation requirements, the participant should contact the event organiser unless otherwise instructed for a specific event.
